Meet Limestone.
Limestone is just 10 months old, but his past has left deep marks on his heart.
Rescued from a severe hoarding situation, he is the most fragile of the group. He is nervous, anxious, and overwhelmed by new people and unfamiliar surroundings.
When he’s scared, his whole body trembles, and he may become defensive if he feels he has no other choice.
But that’s not who Limestone truly is.
Beneath the fear is a gentle, loving soul just waiting for the chance to feel safe. Once he trusts you, really trusts you, he begins to soften. His eyes relax, his body unwinds, and the sweetest, most affectionate boy emerges.
He will quietly seek your closeness, lean into your touch, and show a level of loyalty that only a dog like him can give and his whole body wiggles with excitement.
Limestone will need a very special home, one that is low traffic, quiet, and without children, where he can take his time learning that the world isn’t so scary.
He is a flight risk and will require a securely managed environment and a patient, experienced family committed to going at his pace.
He is currently on medication to help manage his anxiety, and continued support will be important for his progress.
He may also benefit from a calm, confident dog companion who can help show him the ropes and build his confidence in a gentle, reassuring way.
Limestone is 10 months old, neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and kept on prevention here with us.
Limestone’s journey won’t be the easiest but for the right person, it will be incredibly meaningful.
Watching him learn to trust, to feel safe, to be a dog… that’s something truly special.
His story is heartbreaking, but it’s not over yet. Somewhere out there is the person who will give Limestone the life he’s always deserved...a life filled with patience, understanding, and unconditional love.
