Meet Garfunkel!

My name is Garfunkel, and I'm the larger half of the dynamic duo that includes my best friend, Simon. I'm a 4-year-old terrier mix weighing in at a perfect 22 pounds.

Simon and I came from a hoarding situation and eventually found ourselves at a municipal shelter. Thankfully, the wonderful people at ARNO rescued us and gave us a second chance at the life every dog deserves.

Everything is still a little new to me. After all I've been through, I can be shy when meeting new people and exploring new surroundings. But with a little patience, kindness, and love, my sweet personality begins to shine. Once I know I'm safe, I enjoy being close to my people and soaking up the affection I've missed for so long.

I'm looking for a family that understands that trust takes time and that the greatest rewards often come from helping a shy dog blossom. If you have a gentle heart and a little patience, I'd love the chance to show you what a wonderful companion I can be.

**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved. One of ARNO's volunteer adoption counselors will be in contact with you to notify you of your approval status as well as arrange that appointment. Please see the link above to apply.

Adoption Fees:

Dogs:

Puppies under 1 year - $300-$350
Adult dogs (1 - 7 years) - $250
Seniors (8 years and older) - $200
Bulldogs, Standard Poodles and Dachshunds $350


Cats:

Adults (1 year and older) - 1 for $125 / 2 for $200
Kittens (under 1 year) - 1 for $175 / 2 for $225

For all animals that have not been spayed or neutered a $100 deposit will be required in addition to the adoption fee. The deposit is refundable upon completion of the spay / neuter surgery.
