My Story: From a Crowded Home to a Brand-New World
Hi there! I'm one of 13 small-breed mixed-breed dogs who recently arrived at Street Dog Hero, and I'm just beginning to discover what life can be like outside the only home I've ever known. I was rescued from a hoarding situation on October 6, 2026, where I lived with 58 other canine family members, 16 cats, and two elderly humans. My world was very small, and I never had the opportunity to leave the inside of my former home.

So, please forgive me if I seem frightened, shy, or unsure when we first meet. Literally everything is new to me! The sights, sounds, smells, people, and experiences that other dogs might take for granted are things I'm only just beginning to discover. I may need extra time to feel safe, learn to trust, and understand that this new world has good things waiting for me, too. Thanks to the partnership between Street Dog Hero and a wonderful rescue organization in Klamath County, I now have the chance to begin a new chapter here in Bend, Oregon. Many of us appear to be Chihuahua, Terrier or Pomeranian mixes, possibly with Yorkie or other small terrier breeds in our family tree, although our exact breed backgrounds are still a mystery. My journey will take patience, kindness, and understanding. I need someone who won't rush me, expect me to be confident overnight, or take it personally if I need a little space. Instead, I need a person who will celebrate the small victories, give me time to adjust, and help me discover the world at my own pace. I'm still waiting for my veterinary evaluation and the medical care I need before I'm ready for adoption. As my foster family gets to know me, we'll learn more about my personality and the kind of home where I can feel safe and thrive.
