Meet Nala
At first glance, Nala can seem shy and unsure of the world around her. But give her a little time, a little patience, and watch what happens. This timid, young Standard Poodle transforms into a playful, goofy, affectionate companion who loves long walks, zooming around the yard and being close to her favourite people. Every day she's discovering that new experiences aren't quite so scary, and every day her confidence grows a little more. AND she is a small standard at only 21.5 kgs.
Nala is looking for a patient, active family who understands that the very best relationships are built on trust and who has another dog in the house who can help her learn more about the big world. If you're willing to let her blossom at her own pace, you'll be rewarded with a loyal best friend whose love is worth every moment of the journey.
Could you be the person Nala has been waiting for?

FOSTER UPDATE: July 2 --The beautiful Nala is getting ready for her furever home! Still a little nervous, but very affectionate once she thinks you are "safe." She loves the outdoors, even in our current heat wave, and loves to zoom around our yard.
FOSTER UPDATE: July 13 --It's been two weeks with my fo-family and I think I have most of my nap spots figured out. I like to nap with my fo-mom nearby. That way if I get nervous I can look up and she's there. And shoes. I like all the shoes, when she leaves I collect them. And other things on the counter. When fo-mom gets home she is nice about it and puts it all back. I just get soooo bored and lonely if she leaves for more than an hour. My fo-bro just naps. *boring* And I met friends of my fo-mom. They were super nice and I wasn't scared at all!
FOSTER UPDATE: July 19 --I got an amazing birthday surprise (yep, I turned a whole two years old today), I got to go to the Spoo Do!! So many dogs to play with and a nice big space to run around in. There were so many people, so I sometimes got nervous, but my fo-mom was always nearby, so all was good because I could hide with her when it got too much. But I loved playing with all the dogs, I would be lonely if I didn't have a dog-friend to play with. My fo-bro is a big boring guy, but he does play a bit so I guess that's ok.
FOSTER UPDATE: Aug 4 -- Time flies! I have been with my fo-parents for a month. And the fo-bro, can't forget him, he is my built in entertainment. I learned the words jumping bean! It means when I bounce around on the end of my leash when I get excited to be outside. Which is all the time, right!
FOSTER UPDATE: Aug 10 -- Another week, and more adventures with my foster-family! We went on a super long walk, and got to play in nice big off-leash park. My fo-bro let me chase him and then he chased me. It was super fun. But I bet my fo-mom thought I would use up all my energy. Nope! I was just like a jumping bean when I walked home, and then bounced around the house and yard. So much fun!
