DESCRIPTION
Meet Kodiak, a Two year old Husky mix weighing 63 pounds.
Kodiak is a fantastic dog who seems to have it all! He is friendly, well mannered, and did wonderfully with the dogs in his finder’s home. He knows "sit" and "down," walks nicely on leash, and is treat motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. He also did well with kids while out on public dog walks.
And while Kodiak is usually a well-behaved gentleman, he does have a playful side. Every now and then, the zoomies come out!
Kodiak does appear to be a Husky mix, so his future family should do their research before bringing him home. Huskies are intelligent, energetic, social, and independent dogs that need plenty of physical exercise, mental stimulation, and secure containment. They can also be enthusiastic runners and escape artists, so a Husky mix is best suited to a family prepared for those breed traits.
Kodiak is a wonderful dog with a great foundation of manners and a lot of love to give. If you're ready for the fun, personality, and responsibility that can come with a Husky mix, Kodiak could be your perfect match.
This pet is available for adoption on 8/10/2026 11:42 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Siberian Husky is a medium sized working dog breed known for its striking appearance and friendly demeanor. Originating from Siberia, these dogs are well adapted to cold climates and are recognizable for their distinctive wolf like appearance, including piercing almond shaped eyes and a thick double coat. Siberian Huskies are known for their high energy levels, intelligence, and strong willed nature, making them best suited for active families and experienced dog owners who can provide them with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
