Pete - Chihuahua and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Yakima, Washington

Meet Pete, a five month old Chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds.

Pete is a sweet young boy who came to us after being surrendered to animal control along with his siblings. His previous owner had more dogs than they were able to properly care for, and Pete is now looking for a fresh start with a family of his own.

Pete is a little shy at first, but underneath that initial hesitation is a very sweet boy who just needs time, patience, and someone he can learn to trust. Once he feels comfortable, he is sure to show just how much love he has to give.

One of Pete’s biggest needs right now is getting to a healthy weight. He is significantly overweight, especially for such a young dog, and helping him reach a healthy body condition sooner rather than later is important for his long-term health and quality of life. A healthy weight will help reduce the risk of joint problems and other weight-related issues and give Pete the best chance at a long, active life without unnecessary pain.

Pete will need a family committed to proper nutrition, regular exercise, continued training, and routine veterinary care. With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, we believe this sweet boy can blossom into a happy, healthy companion.
