MY STORY: Meet Helga

Helga is an adorable little Teddy Bear with a gentle heart and a bright future ahead of her.

A Teddy Bear is typically a mix of a Shih Tzu and a Bichon Frise, although with dogs from breeding facilities, we can never be completely certain of their breed makeup. What we do know is that Helga is absolutely precious and deserves a loving home where she can finally experience life as a cherished family member.

Helga was released from a breeding facility and is still learning about the world around her. She is sweet and shy, preferring to take things at her own pace while she figures out that people can be kind and life can be good.

Because of her background, we believe Helga has most likely never lived in a home before. Everyday experiences that many dogs take for granted may be completely new to her. For that reason, she will need a patient adopter who understands that building confidence takes time.

A home with another friendly, confident dog is a requirement for Helga. Having a canine companion to model appropriate behaviors and help her navigate new situations will make a tremendous difference as she adjusts to family life.
