MY STORY: Meet Ivar 💙

Ivar is a 6-year-old Poodle who is searching for a patient, understanding family willing to help him discover a life he's likely never known.

Released from a breeding facility in Wisconsin, Ivar arrived carrying the emotional weight of his past. He is currently quite shut down and unsure of the world around him. Even the breeder acknowledged that Ivar was this way while in their care, suggesting that his reserved nature is not simply the result of recent changes.

While Ivar isn't ready to show the world who he is just yet, we believe there is so much more to him than what we see today. Every day, he is surrounded by the freedom, kindness, and love that all dogs deserve. Our hope is that, with time, he will begin to enjoy the company of the other dogs, gain confidence from their example, and learn that people can be trusted.

Because of his timid nature and breeder-release background, Ivar will require another friendly, confident dog in his forever home. A canine companion will be essential in helping him navigate new experiences and learn what life as a family dog is all about.

Ivar's future adopter should understand that progress may come in small steps. Dogs like Ivar don't typically transform overnight. Their journeys are often measured in moments—a curious glance, a wag of the tail, a willingness to stay a little closer. Those moments are worth celebrating because they represent trust being built one day at a time.

Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. We do not guarantee dog breeds.
