MY STORY: Meet Hilde

Hilde is a sweet 5-year-old Shih Tzu who is ready to begin a new chapter filled with love, patience, and kindness.

She was released from a breeding farm and is just starting to learn what life as a cherished companion can be. Based on her background, we believe Hilde has likely never lived in a home before, so many everyday experiences will be completely new to her.

Hilde is shy, but there is a curious little dog hiding behind that cautious exterior. She wants to know what's going on around her and is slowly gaining confidence as she learns that the world isn't such a scary place. Watching dogs like Hilde discover new things and begin to trust is one of the most rewarding parts of rescue.

Because of her breeder-release background, Hilde will need another friendly, confident dog in her forever home. Having a canine companion to model behavior, provide reassurance, and help her navigate unfamiliar situations will be an important part of her success.

Hilde is a very sweet girl who will thrive with patient adults who understand that trust and confidence take time to build. She isn't looking for perfectionjust a family willing to meet her where she is and celebrate her progress along the way.

Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. We do not guarantee dog breeds.
