EMON - Shiba Inu Dog for Adoption in Santa Cruz, California

EMON

Shiba Inu
🇺🇸
Santa Cruz, California
September 2nd
male, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Meet Emon, the 5 year old neutered male Shiba Inu. Emon came to the Shelter after his previous guardian had a baby who was allergic to him. The family had to make the tough decision to find Emon a new home. This sweet guy was a little nervous upon arrival but then befriended staff fairly quickly. He is sensitive and needs a patient adopter who will help him transition into his new life, people and environment. He was crated when left alone in his previous home while his family was at work. His favorite activity is going for walks outside. Emon has met other dogs and is fairly neutral. He does not appreciate those who greet him in a forward manner. He may appreciate being the only dog in the home or in a home with a mellow dog that he can coexist with. Emon used to live with two cats in his previous home. His guardians described his behavior as more cat-like than dog-like. He knows sit and shake. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week. Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
