Meet Princess!

Princess is a Shetland Sheepdog that is around 2 years old and weighs 30 pounds. Princess originally arrived at our shelter as a stray with a broken leg that required surgery. She was later surrendered to us so she could receive the medical care she needed. She found herself a wonderful foster home to recovery in, had her surgery, and was recently cleared! She is now fully recovered and is doing so well!

During her time in foster care, Princess’ foster parents have learned so much about her personality! She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows commands such as “sit” and “shake.” She is very treat motivated, walks well on a leash, and absolutely loves people! Princess is a loving and affectionate girl who is also smart and eager to learn. One thing her future family will need to be understanding of is that Princess gets car sick while riding in the car.
Princess is a playful and active pup who would thrive with a family that can provide her with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to keep her busy. Whether it’s learning new tricks, enjoying playtime, or spending time with her favorite people, Princess is ready to be part of the fun!

Princess had a canine companion in her foster home and enjoyed the company of her male dog friend! She has the potential to live with another dog, although she can be more dominant, so a submissive playmate may be the best fit for her. She does tend to bark at other dogs while on a leash, but she does better once she has the opportunity to greet them. A meet-and-greet with any dogs in the home would take place at the shelter to make sure everyone is a good match. Princess requires a home without cats, as she displays a high prey drive. Princess would do well with kiddos aged 6 and older.
