Lobstah Roll is currently living at our shelter in Pembroke, Massachusetts, and is eligible for BFAR’s Foster to Adopt program.
Lobstah Roll is a 60 pound male Shepherd and Husky mix born on January 1, 2026.
PERSONALITY: Lobstah Roll is a smart, friendly, affectionate dog with plenty of personality. He loves fetch, swimming, car rides, walks, toys, and spending time with people. After exercise and playtime, he is happy to settle for a nap.
AT HOME: Lobstah Roll is house trained and crate trained. He sleeps quietly in his crate and has been comfortable crated for up to 4 hours during the day.
TRAINING: Lobstah Roll knows sit and down and is working on stay, leave it, calmer greetings, and appropriate play. He is a large adolescent dog who can become jumpy and mouthy when excited. He needs continued training, clear expectations, and consistent redirection.
LEASH SKILLS: Lobstah Roll enjoys walks but can pull strongly when excited. His leash should be handled by a confident adult who is comfortable managing his size and strength.
YARD SAFETY: Lobstah Roll can jump over fences and must not be left unattended in a yard. A fence should not be relied upon to contain him. He needs secure leash or long line management outdoors.
PREY DRIVE: Lobstah Roll has a very strong prey drive toward wildlife and has caught birds in flight. His handler must remain alert and maintain control around birds, rabbits, and other small animals.
OTHER DOGS: Lobstah Roll is dog friendly and has lived with dogs of different sizes. His play can be energetic, so any canine companion should be comfortable with his size and play style.
CHILDREN: Lobstah Roll has done well with children. Because of his size, energy, jumping, and mouthiness, he would do best with children ages 10 and older.
CATS: Unknown. Lobstah Roll has never lived with a cat. Because of his strong prey drive, any potential placement with a cat would need careful consideration.
BEST FIT: Lobstah Roll needs an active, committed foster or adopter who is comfortable handling a large adolescent dog and willing to continue his training. He is a good dog with a lot of potential, but he needs someone prepared to provide exercise, structure, consistency, and clear boundaries.
All of our dogs are up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and on preventatives.
