Meet Moxie - A Loyal Girl with So Much Love to Give!

Moxie is a beautiful, nearly 4-year-old Shepherd mix weighing approximately 46 pounds. She's smart, affectionate, full of personality, and looking for a patient family to give her a fresh start!

Originally adopted from Melissa's Second Chances as a puppy, Moxie spent three years enjoying life in a home. Now she's back with us, hoping to find the right family to love her for a lifetime.

A Sweetheart with Her Favorite People

Once Moxie gets to know you, she's an incredibly loving and devoted companion!

She enjoys cuddling, spending time with her people, and being part of everyday family life. She's also a smart girl who knows several commands, is fully housetrained, and enjoys getting outside to explore.

Moxie can be a little nervous when meeting someone new, but she's shown that she can warm up with patience and gentle encouragement.

Friends & Adventures

Moxie previously lived happily with another dog and has enjoyed playful interactions with neighboring dogs through a fence.

She's also done well with a visiting cat!

Moxie enjoys walks and generally does well on a leash, although she can pull when something catches her attention.

Finding Her Comfort Zone

Moxie forms strong bonds with the people she trusts, but unfamiliar visitors entering her home can make her uncomfortable. She has reacted by lunging, so she'll need a family committed to carefully managing introductions, respecting her boundaries, and helping her feel secure.

She has also recently experienced significant distress when confined in a crate. Her future family will need to work with our team on a safe, comfortable routine for alone time rather than assuming a traditional crate will work for her.

A quieter, predictable home with patient adults who understand sensitive dogs would be a wonderful place for Moxie to settle in and build confidence.

Moxie has so many wonderful qualities: she's affectionate, intelligent, playful, and deeply devoted to the people she loves.

She doesn't need a perfect family. She needs an understanding one willing to earn her trust, celebrate her progress, and give her the stability she deserves.
