Shepherd Dogs Available for Adoption in Bothell, Washington

Animal Information: Lovey is an estimated 10-month-old 50 lb spayed female shepherd mix. She was a long stay at the Porterville Animal Shelter in California and a shelter staff favorite. In short stints in foster care, she was observed to be "absolutely amazing with kids, great with other dogs, curious and playful, and a great match for an active family." We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care.

Foster Profile:
Lovey is doing great! She shakes with anticipation at meeting new people

and craves their affection. She is great with our kids, loves them to death! She is not territorial, neighbors and their kids come and go; she is fine with that. She is very easy to train and has so far mastered "sit" and "lay" down. We are currently working on "come" and "stay.”

Lovey still has some puppy behaviors such as jumping up when excited and being mouthy at times, and she does pull on leash, so she will benefit from continued training. She has significant prey drive for squirrels/bunnies outside, and we aren't sure of her intentions with our cat. She is mostly calm around the cat inside. However, when the cat runs she does want to chase/pounce, so she might do best in a cat free home or with a dog savvy cat.

Lovey has an amazing temperament. She rarely barks, goes right to sleep in her crate, doesn't beg at the table, and is a fast learner. She is quite energetic, and loves to run and go for walks. When everyone is calm in a room or she is in her crate though, she generally matches our energy and relaxes. Lovey will make a great addition to an active PNW family!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Animal History: This dog was transferred from Porterville Animal Services in Porterville, CA. She will be transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 04/09/2026 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
