Who doesn’t love a naked land hippo?

This bald beauty and her sidekick, Tootsie, were found as strays in California—and somehow they hit the Shar Pei Rescue jackpot. Because if there’s one thing this Shar Pei rescue is really good at, it’s tackling Shar Pei medical issues and giving these wrinkly potatoes the care they deserve.

There is nothing better than watching a bald Pei blossom with good food, medicated baths, a little TLC, and a whole lot of love.

This girl is a little more shy than Tootsie, but she warms up quickly once she realizes you’re one of the good ones. She’s great with other dogs and doing wonderfully with her crate training.

House training is coming along, too, and we expect she’ll have that mastered by the time she’s ready for her forever home. ❤ï ̧

Before adoption, she’ll be spayed and evaluated for entropion, with eye tacking performed if needed.

The Shar Pei is a distinctive breed known for their deep wrinkles and blue black tongue. Originally from China, these medium sized dogs are loyal, independent, and protective of their families. Shar Peis have a unique appearance with a hippopotamus like face and a broad, padded muzzle. Their coat can be either horse coat or brush coat, coming in a variety of colors. While they can be aloof with strangers, Shar Peis are devoted companions with a calm demeanor, making them wonderful family pets.
