Sanford is one of those puppies you look at and immediately think, “What a sweet boy.” And that is exactly who he is. He is incredibly gentle, loving, quiet and easygoing. He loves other dogs and would be wonderful with another dog in the home, but he is also the kind of puppy who could happily soak up all the attention as your only dog.

Sanford has a pretty special beginning. His mom and her daughter lived with two elderly women in Puerto Rico. Neither dog had been sterilized, and when a male dog jumped the fence, they both became pregnant at the same time. They gave birth just three days apart—two litters of five puppies, with 8 boys and only 2 girls between them.

The wonderful part of their story is that Sanford and his siblings never knew the streets. From the day they were born, they have known the love of people, their moms, and each other. It really shows in their personalities. These puppies are unusually gentle, well-mannered and calm. They have grown up surrounded by other dogs and would be fantastic companions for another dog or a family with children.

And then there are cats. Sanford has already shown us just how sweet he is with them. As you can see, he is perfectly happy having a kitten climb all over him. So yes, Sanford is good with cats—the bigger question may be whether the cat is good with Sanford. LOL.

Sanford has that soft, soulful little face that matches his personality perfectly. He is affectionate without being overwhelming, playful without being wild, and just an all-around lovely puppy who is going to make someone an incredible best friend.
