Blaze is a sensitive, sweet boy who just needs a little time to show you who he really is—and once he does, he’s all heart.

In the home, Blaze lived with three other dogs and did well with them. He actually prefers the company of larger, respectful dogs and would do best in a home without smaller animals.

Blaze is a slow burner with new people. He can be nervous at first and takes his time learning that he’s safe, but once he bonds with his handler, that connection comes quickly and meaningfully. He tends to attach closely to whoever is caring for him and finds comfort in that person’s presence.

During his time with us, Blaze showed his soft, affectionate side—curling up on the couch and settling right in behind his person. On walks, he did very well and showed that he walks nicely on a leash. He also has a cute habit of gently weaving between your feet or tucking himself in close behind you, almost like he’s trying to stay as near as possible for reassurance.

Once Blaze feels safe, he becomes a loyal, affectionate companion who bonds deeply and wants to be near his person as much as possible. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart when you’re not looking
