Elroy, cuddle King - Rat Terrier and Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Houston, Texas

Meet Elroy........located in Houston, TEXAS (transport included in adoption fee)

Chihuahua X Terrier Mix
Weight: 15lbs
Estimated birthday: 02/07/2026

Elroy is a smart, curious puppy ready to follow your lead. He’s still a typical puppy that loves to play around with toys and fur friends but his favorite activity is being held; he’s a cuddle king! The cuddling is best after some play time and then he’s all about the snuggles or even falling asleep right beside you. Elroy is happiest when he’s part of the family.

This little guy is beyond thrilled to be us after he was found suffering major pain and issues with his fixedly exposed male part at a park for days. He was too scared to allow any good samaritians to pick him up but thankfully they reached out to us and we were able to trap him. Now he is healthy and happy playing and cuddling friends at the rescue.

If you’re looking for a fun, loving little sidekick who will fill your home with playful and cuddly happiness, Elroy may be your perfect match!

Elroy is:
* Vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered
* Kennel & potty training in progress
* Dog friendly
* located in Houston, TX transport included in adoption fee! ***PLEASE NOTE: pickup locations of transported dogs may vary, including to nearby towns or states.***

*We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.

*Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.

*Listed breed is based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.

*Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

*All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!

*We have a strong adoption process, backed by reviews from previous adopters. Check out our reviews on Google and Facebook.
