Meet Charlie – The Tiny but Mighty Survivor with a Heart Full of Love
Charlie is a 4-year-old, 12-pound Portuguese Podengo who has already lived through more than most dogs his age.

He was born at a backyard breeder and confiscated by animal control along with the rest of the siblings being sold for thousands of dollars. From there, he landed in a high-kill shelter. Because of over population and small size, he was immediately placed on the euthanasia list and scheduled to be put to sleep at 4:00 PM.
But fate had other plans for this little guy.
Our rescue team happened to be at the shelter that very afternoon. We watched as staff gently carried Charlie back for what was supposed to be his final “pup cup” treat. The moment we saw him — this tiny, fluffy, long-haired cutie with big, trusting eyes — we knew we couldn’t let it happen. We stepped in right then and pulled him from the shelter just hours before his scheduled time.
Today, Charlie is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and bursting with love. He’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly sweet — the kind of dog who melts into your lap and gives you those big eyes that make your heart skip a beat. Despite everything he’s been through, he trusts people completely and is ready to shower his forever family with endless affection.

Charlie is looking for a loving home where he can finally feel safe, spoiled, and cherished. He’s great with kids and adults alike and would love nothing more than to be someone’s little shadow — following you from room to room, snuggling on the couch, and living his very best puppy life.
