Skye (her Mississippi name was Renee but we think she looks like a Skye with her blue eye!) settled in right away in her new foster home in the northeast and is an absolute doll, she is sweet and friendly and very loving.. Skye loves toys and bones and comes running when you call her.
Skye is 100% housebroken, no accidents from this sweet girl. She absolutely loves to play with other dogs although sometimes she will bark at big dogs when she gets nervous at the dog park. She was a little nervous around very young children, she’s not aggressive at all but if she is adopted in a family with young children, they will need to be gentle with her and give her time to adjust. She would absolutely love a home with another dog to play with!
Skye and her siblings were found abandoned and alone under a house in a rural part of Mississippi. Fortunately, a good Samaritan pulled them from under the house and brought them to Wags. The siblings were likely dumped, a common practice in Mississippi.
Like any puppy, Skye needs a family willing to give her the training and attention she needs to grow up to be the very good girl we know she can be.
A little about Wags and adoption fees: The woman who runs Wags takes care of almost 200 dogs completely on her own, she finds stray dogs constantly and find it impossible to turn them away.
Adoption fees are the only source of funding for Wags and help pay for the vaccines, microchip spay/neuter and the transport from Mississippi for the lucky dogs who get posted for adoption and fine loving homes. What little is left after those expenses helps pay for food and vet care for all the other dogs and of course, the multitude of other expenses that come from running a rescue.
Almost all of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. Sometimes were able to bring up dogs into a foster home in the northeast, we always need foster homes!
