Athena (approximately 65 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. If you've ever wanted your very own house hippo with pointy ears, Athena is your girl! This solid bundle of muscle & love adores people and is always eager to make new friends. Our dog walkers report that she is an easy & enjoyable walk, taking her time to enjoy all the sniffs along the way and reveling in her time outdoors. Athena participated in doggie play groups at her previous shelter, and she is an excellent match for any dog who enjoys a rough and tumble play style. She & her best friend Stash have a blast wrestling around in our fenced-in play yard. Athena's Texas shelter reports that Athena & Stash even had sleepovers together, and Athena was very tolerant of Stash's bed-hogging tendencies.
