Meet Hazel!

Hazel is a ball of fun! She is energetic, playful, sweet, and nosy! She does not know what personal space is! She wants to be near you at all times and investigate any noise/person. She’s loyal, playful, high energy and crashes (snores!). She absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs, does well with kids, and enjoys cuddling up on the couch. Hazel would do best in an active home and a home with another social dog to play with her. Though she loves cuddles on the couch after a long day, she is not a couch potato and needs lots of exercise and stimulation- she loves a walk! She would do so great with a family who can make her the center of attention. She loves being loved and wants to please her pack.

She is house trained and prefers to sleep in the bed with her people if she's allowed, but is also working on crate training. First thing she does when she’s out of her crate is to run full blast to check on her people. Has to see everyone (so may jump on you if you’re in bed or laying down!) before she goes outside. Needs to greet everyone!

If she could talk, she'd probably say, “I know I’m a lot. I have so much energy and approximately zero understanding of personal space. I will probably follow you from room to room because, honestly, why would you go anywhere without me?” And/or “because you make me feel safe”.

She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of age-appropriate core vaccinations, microchip, and cost of care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership.
