Burt is a goofy, playful dog, with a personality too big for his 40lb body, and very affectionate. Burt would love to live with another dog that could help him learn and build confidence. He would do best with respectful children 10+. Burt would love to show you how smart he is and how much he could learn.

Burt is the kind of dog you meet once and never forget. He is a staff favorite for a reason—one of the most affectionate, playful, goofy, and personality-filled dogs you could ever hope to meet. Burt has somehow managed to pack an absolutely enormous personality into his short... and long... little body, and every day with him is guaranteed to bring a smile! He was found as a stray roaming the streets of San Antonio. He is fun, silly, loving, and full of life. Burt loves to play, loves to be around his people, and has so much affection to give. He is the kind of dog who makes everyone around him laugh with his goofy antics and then immediately melts into a sweet, loving companion who just wants to be close to the people he loves. He truly has the biggest personality and an even bigger heart. Burt also does well with other dogs and walks great on leash, making him an easy and enjoyable companion to spend time with. And if there is one thing Burt may love almost as much as people, it is FOOD and TOYS! Burt is a huge foodie and is always more than happy to accept a tasty treat. Whether it is playtime, cuddle time, a walk, or snack time, Burt approaches life with enthusiasm and makes the absolute most out of every moment.
