Meet Lyra — a strikingly beautiful grey and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix with the most precious face and a heart full of love just waiting to be given to the right person. This sweet girl was found as a stray on April 22nd with no one to come forward for her, and she now waits in Kennel #858 for someone to recognize just how truly special she is. How a dog this gorgeous and this good ended up on the streets alone is simply impossible to understand.
 
Lyra already knows how to sit when asked and walks beautifully on leash — and when she is not busy showing off her manners she is busy being absolutely, irresistibly playful. At 3 years old and 40 pounds she is in the perfect prime of her life — mature enough to be settled and well mannered, yet young enough to have endless years of love and loyalty still ahead of her just waiting to be shared with the right family.
 
Lyra is heartworm negative and up to date on all of her vaccines, and she will be spayed prior to adoption — healthy, happy, and completely ready for the fresh start she so deeply deserves. She came in off the streets with no one to speak for her, and yet here she is — sweet, playful, and full of everything a person could ever want in a companion.

This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
