Meet DUCKY!

Ducky is the cutest 11-month-old Retriever mix pup who is as sweet as can be! Ducky knows no strangers-people, dogs, cats, she wants to befriend them all!

Ducky came to us very emaciated, but she has put on weight like a champ over the past few weeks and is now healthy and ready for a home of her own. She absolutely loves food and treats, making her a joy to train and work with.

Ducky recently enjoyed a sleepover with a staff member, who reported that she was simply the best houseguest. She was very polite in the home and wanted nothing more than to befriend the resident dog and cats, even when they told her they weren't interested. Even so, she tried very hard to get them to be her friend and play! She was also making amazing strides with housetraining and slept quietly in her crate overnight. She was even wonderful and sweet with the young daughter in the home.

Ducky loves being wherever the people are and happily joins in when there is socializing happening. She also loves toys and will happily choose her favorites from a toy bin. She is a happy, affectionate, social puppy who has so much love to give and deserves the very best home. While we think she would really enjoy having a well-matched canine buddy, it is not a requirement to give her a loving home.

With a distinctive red coat and white markings, Tollers are known for their agility, intelligence, and playful nature. Developed for hunting waterfowl, they use a unique hunting technique called tolling to attract ducks within range. These energetic and affectionate dogs make excellent companions for active individuals or families who can provide them with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.
