Meet Lumie! The Happiest Little Tripod!

At just 10 months old, Lumie has already been through more than any puppy should have to endure - and yet somehow, she has come through it all with her sweet, loving personality completely intact!

Lumie is a small Poodle mix who came to us from ACCT Philly after being surrendered with a badly broken leg. Her leg had been broken for over a week before she came into our care, and this poor little girl was in a tremendous amount of pain. But even through all of that, Lumie still wanted nothing more than to be loved.

Unfortunately, her leg could not be saved, so it was amputated. But Lumie didn't let losing a leg slow her down! She quickly figured out how to navigate life as a three-legged pup, and she is doing amazingly well. She runs, plays, cuddles, explores, and does all the important things a puppy should do - just with three legs instead of four!

And what a personality she has! Lumie is an absolute cuddle bug who loves her people and seems to adore everyone she meets. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of energy. She gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats, so she would love having furry friends to keep her company.

When playtime is over, Lumie is more than happy to snuggle up with her people. At night, she sleeps peacefully in an open X-pen, and she is doing great with her potty training when taken outside on a regular schedule.

Lumie is a bit of a vocal girl and likes to let you know what she's thinking, so an apartment or other close-quarters living situation would not be ideal for her. A home where her barking won't be an issue would be best.

Now this special little girl is ready for the part of her story we've all been waiting for: her forever family.

Lumie is being fostered in Berks County, PA. Potential adopters must be willing to come to the Berks County area for a meet-and-greet, including a meeting with any current resident dogs.
