Say hello to Sampson, a 10-month-old Cavapoo/Shih Tzu mix weighing in at 23 pounds of pure sweetness!

Sampson came to Zoe's House after not being sold by a commercial breeder, and when he arrived, he had a tough start. His coat was severely matted with thorns embedded down to his skin. After receiving the care and grooming he desperately needed, Sampson turned into a happy, springy, cuddly boy. While Sampson is still learning about the world around him and can be shy in new situations with new people, he blossoms with patience and love. Once you've earned his trust, you'll have a loyal shadow for life. Want a constant companion? Sampson is your guy! Be prepared to have a bathroom buddy forever!

Sampson loves toys!! He has showed some guarding if you reach for a toy that he is chewing on but has made so much progress in a short amount of time. He now shares toys with his foster brother, accepts a trade for another toy or a treat, and brings a toy to show you his treasure. He's also a smart cookie! Sampson already knows his name, responds to "no," sits on command, gets down when asked, and is doing wonderfully with house training. His love of treats and positive reinforcement makes him eager to learn.

Sampson walks on a leash (with some pulling) and happily takes care of business during his outings. Like any puppy, he has lots of energy and curiosity to explore the world. A fenced yard is not necessary, but his family should be aware that he has a strong interest in squirrels, chipmunks, cats, and other small critters, so he'll try to chase them if given the chance!

At bedtime, Sampson sleeps quietly in his crate as long as his foster mom is nearby. He's still working on enjoying daytime crating and car rides, but he's making progress every day.

Sampson is neutered, microchipped and UTP on vaccinations. This handsome pup requires regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best.
