Just like his namesake, Boom is ready to make a BIG entrance into his next chapter! After spending his whole life with his person, Boom recently found himself in the shelter when his owner had to move out of state. Which is a lot of sudden change for this sweet guy, and right now, the shelter environment is understandably a little overwhelming.
What Boom really needs is a calm, quiet home where he can decompress, relax, and get his groove back. And once he has the opportunity to settle in, this guy is not only a good boy, but a truly "GREAT" one! Boom's former owner also describes him as friendly, confident, independent, affectionate, playful, and excitable-plus a total snugglebug.
Boom also has plenty of fun in his repertoire! Squeaky toys? Yes, please. Fancy bones from the farmer's market? Absolutely. Sniff-filled adventures around the park? He's in! Boom has experience with both leisurely and brisk leash walks, knows some basic commands, and his former owner says he's a very silly guy who becomes wonderfully chill once he's had a chance to settle. Boom also has lots of experience with other dogs and really enjoys canine company.
Although he previously did well with free-roaming he had been more recently working on his crate skills, and he's now comfortable spending a few hours in his crate and is usually nice and settled after a good walk. And if Boom gets a little too excited, his person says a simple redirection does the trick-and Boom will happily go lie in his crate. We love a guy who knows when it's time to clock out!
More than anything, Boom is looking for a soft landing and a peaceful place where he can take a breath, feel safe, and remember what it's like to just be somebody's beloved dog again. Give him a little time and patience, and there's a whole lot of affection, silliness, playfulness, and cuddling waiting to boom into your life!

This dog is considered a mixed breed because it's not accurate to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label.
