Dog Name: Finnick
Breed: Small Mixed
Sex: Male
Age: 1yr old roughly
Weight: 10 lbs
Medical Needs: Neuter and 4dx test is scheduled for 7/27/26 at BVSPCA in Georgetown Keeping the appointment is a condition of adoption. If you aren't going to be able to accommodate an appointment there (drop offs are 8-830 and pick ups are 4-5 ish) or are going to try to argue with us about it later, DO NOT APPLY, because we are going to tell you that the appointment stands. Foster to adopt family must live within 1 hour of Georgetown so there won't be any issues traveling back for his neuter. NO EXCEPTIONS
Housebroken: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Good in the car: Still in observation. He laid down when we brought him home.
Good on a leash: He's been good on a leash.
Energy level: high
Need a fenced in yard: no, leash walks would be fine.
Dog Friendly: Yes. He's been introduced to our resident & foster dogs.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No
Cat Friendly? Somewhat. He has a lot of energy so some of our dog friendly cats are good and some don't want that energy near them.
Kid Friendly: He hasn't yet been around any kids but I suspect he'd be fine.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Depending on how trained the kids are with animals, 6 or older because he can be jumpy and scratch.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? He is showing signs that he is a smart boy! He's learned to sit the first day we started training. He knows sit and lay currently. He has a lot of puppy energy! He'll need more training especially to learn not to jump and to focus. He is the epitome of...squirrel! He does follow us around the house and yard. Sticks like glue especially under your feet. He's been introduced to our dogs and he will be submissive until they get their sniffs done and then he wants to play. He has met some of our dog friendly cats and those that want nothing to do with this energy. So, if you have cats, they need to be okay with an excited jumping bean lol. He is potty trained. We've had one accident and that was the first night he came to us. He did get his nails professionally trimmed and did very good for the groomer. He walks well on the leash for a puppy. He goes into his kennel and doesn't make a peep. He will make someone very happy with the right training and introductions. I wouldn't recommend young children just because of the jumping and possible scratches.
