Marbles - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption

My foster writes:
Marbles is an intensely loyal, super-intelligent guy. He's got a lot of energy and is always up for long brisk walks and hikes. He'd make an excellent hiking companion. (He's good in a car if you have a doggie seatbelt or a crate.) He loves chasing balls and he keeps himself busy with chew toys and snuffle mats. He would do well with a strong active owner who can patiently teach him to walk at your pace, not his (he does love his walks and gets very excited about going outside!)

Marbles loves his naps. He loves any spot that has tons of pillows; your favorite chair, your spot on the couch and your bed. He will also sleep in a dog bed in his crate. But mostly he likes to sleep curled up next to you so you can rub his tummy. Cuddle time is his favorite time of the day.

Marbles was found tied up outside a building and is now looking for a calm, patient home where he can truly settle and feel safe.

My Ideal Home
We call him our "Velcro-dog" because once he has claimed you as his pack, he won't leave your side. Marbles would do well in a calm predictable adult-only home. He needs a patient adopter who will take the time to teach him how to be the best dog ever. Marbles is smart and highly motivated to please you. He just needs consistent positive reinforcement (and lots of exercise) to learn how to be your best buddy.

Good with Other Pets?
When on a leash, Marbles has shown neutral, polite behavior towards other dogs. If introducing him to other dogs in a household, it's highly recommended that you make a slow, thoughtful introduction over an extended period of time. He hasn't been around other pets and can be territorial.

Good with Kids?
He still has toddler tendencies and is a very physical dog. When he loves you, he loves you with his entire 50-pound body! He doesn't know his own strength, so we wouldn't recommend a household with children under 12 or anyone who can be knocked over easily.

Things to Know
Marbles is a tender-hearted boy who can feel overwhelmed in busy or high-stimulation environments, so he does best with calm handling and plenty of space to decompress. Once he feels safe, he enjoys gentle attention and will quietly seek out connection in his own way. He's still learning that the world isn't something to be worried about, and he benefits from slow, reassuring guidance.
