When Devon first arrived at the shelter, the world felt a little too big and scary. But with patience, treats, and lots of encouragement, this handsome guy has blossomed beautifully. He's officially graduated from our "Fraidy Cat" program and now proudly shows off his clicker-training skills like the smart little gentleman he is!
Devon especially loves bubbles, visual toys, and cozy enrichment time - you can practically see the curiosity sparkle in his eyes. Once he trusts you, he'll bravely trot over for treats and gentle attention, making every small victory feel extra special.

Devon Deluxe is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is very apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, he does hiss and avoid human contact. It is difficult to predict if he will respond to socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
A volunteer writes: Devon Deluxe has spent over a month in the shelter and so he gave it a good chance only to realize that this is, in fact, not the place for him. A quiet guy who prefers his little cubby to being out and about, he's really putting all of his time and energy into figuring out what he needs to be doing to finally find his forever home. Devon Deluxe was brought to us from a home with many other cats and might not have a lot of experience meeting new people. He has allowed pets, but isn't one to seek them out so he's looking for a calm and patient home that will welcome him for who he is and give him the space to find out who he wants to be.

Devon may be reserved when you first meet him, but if you give him a little time, you'll start to see his sweet personality peek through in quiet, endearing ways.
He's quite the little conversationalist, with a rich repertoire of different meows, each sounding a little different from the last-though what he's trying to tell you is anyone's guess... unless it's breakfast time, when his message is crystal clear! He's also not the most graceful jumper, which only adds to his charm.
He doesn't demand constant play or attention and brings a peaceful, easygoing presence to the home. One thing he does love is the company of other cats. He follows his foster feline friend around and clearly enjoys having another cat nearby, so we think he'd thrive in a home with a friendly feline companion who can help him continue building confidence.
If you're looking for a calm, gentle companion who's happy to simply share your space, Devon could be the perfect match. One of the most rewarding parts of loving him is watching him grow more comfortable and confident with patience, kindness, and a little TLC.
