Meet Steve!

Steve is a gentle, shy boy who prefers to take life at his own pace. He’s nervous and slow to trust, but there’s a sweet little personality waiting to shine through—and peanut butter may just be the way to his heart!

Steve is skittish around most things, but he feels much more comfortable around other dogs! When he thinks it’s just him and his canine friends, he relaxes, becomes more playful, and lets his personality come out. Having a confident dog companion may help Steve continue building his confidence.

You’ll often find Steve hanging out in his crate, where he can safely observe everything happening around the house without feeling like he has to participate. He’s making progress with leash training. He much prefers having the freedom to explore and absolutely loves being loose in a big, open yard.

Steve will need a patient family willing to give him time, space, and plenty of encouragement as he learns that the world can be a safe place. With patience, consistency, and maybe a little peanut butter, Steve has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
