Meet Alfie!
Hi! I’m Alfie, and I’m almost 2 years old and about 15 pounds of happiness, confidence, and FUN!
I’m a sweet, outgoing little guy who loves people and thinks making new friends is one of the best things in life. I’m affectionate, curious, playful, and always ready to be included in whatever you’re doing.
And dogs? I LOVE them! Big dogs, little dogs—I’m happy to make friends with just about everyone. I’d be thrilled to have a playful canine buddy in my new home, although I’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention myself.
I like cats too... maybe a little too much. When I see one, my first thought is, “Yay! Another friend to play with!” So a dog-savvy cat who can handle my enthusiastic invitations to play would be the best match.
I’m also good with kids, but I’m still young and can get a little mouthy/nippy when I’m excited and playing. I’m not trying to be naughty—I’m just still learning my best grown-up manners! Because of that, a family willing to continue teaching me appropriate play would be perfect.
I’m crate trained, too. I settle better when I’ve had enough exercise and something to keep me occupied. If I’m bored in my crate, though, I may decide everyone needs to hear about it.
What kind of family am I looking for? One that wants a happy, confident, social little companion who loves people, enjoys other dogs, and approaches life like every day might bring a new friend or a new adventure.
At only 15 pounds, I may be little—but I have a BIG personality and an even bigger heart.
I was rescued in Texas and Im looking for a foster-to-adopt family in the northern states. That means you get 2 to 3 weeks to try real life together the home routine, the walks, the treats, the bones, and all the everyday things that help you know if we are truly a fit.
Theres no pressure in the process. If for some reason Im not the right match, my rescue will quickly find me another home so everyone stays supported and safe. Its a thoughtful way to make sure my forever family is truly the right one.
Transport runs every other weekend, and Ill be making my trip north soon. Pickup locations are Winchester, VA, East Hartford, Connecticut and Brattleboro, Vermont.
The best way to apply for me is through the website: www.rociosrescues.org
You can also email rociosrescues@yahoo.comwith questions. Petfinder inquiries sometimes go to spam, so applying through the website is the best way to make sure your application is seen.
I have a feeling my person is out there... and if youve made it this far, I think we might need to meet.
