Meet Honey — A Gentle Girl Looking for Her Safe Place
Hi, I’m Honey!
I’m a sweet, gentle 2-year-old girl weighing about 13 pounds, and my name fits me pretty perfectly. I’m loving, docile, and incredibly sweet—but I’m also a sensitive little soul who needs some time before I feel completely safe.
New places and unfamiliar people can be scary for me at first. I’m not the kind of girl who will necessarily walk into a new home and immediately act like I’ve lived there forever. I need time to watch, learn, and realize that I’m safe. Once I begin to trust you, though, my loving side starts to come out.
I previously lived in a home with several other small dogs and cats, along with an older woman and her granddaughter, and I did wonderfully with everyone. I’m great with both dogs and cats, so having a friendly, confident animal companion may even help me learn the ropes in my new home.
I am House trained, Crate trained — although I may have a few things to say about being in there sometimes!, Great with dogs, Great with cats, Sweet and docile, Loving once I feel safe, Working on my leash skills
My leash training is still a work in progress, so my family should be prepared to keep practicing with me patiently and positively.
Give me consistency, kindness, patience, and a little extra TLC, and one day you’ll get to watch me realize:
I was rescued in Texas and Im looking for a foster-to-adopt family in the northern states. That means you get 2 to 3 weeks to try real life together the home routine, the walks, the treats, the bones, and all the everyday things that help you know if we are truly a fit.
Theres no pressure in the process. If for some reason Im not the right match, my rescue will quickly find me another home so everyone stays supported and safe. Its a thoughtful way to make sure my forever family is truly the right one.
Transport runs every other weekend, and Ill be making my trip north soon. Pickup locations are Winchester, VA, East Hartford, Connecticut and Brattleboro, Vermont.
The best way to apply for me is through the website: www.rociosrescues.org
You can also email rociosrescues@yahoo.comwith questions. Petfinder inquiries sometimes go to spam, so applying through the website is the best way to make sure your application is seen.
I have a feeling my person is out there... and if youve made it this far, I think we might need to meet.
