Sumatra - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Hobart, Indiana

Meet Sumatra!

This boy is still new, and we’re still learning about him and gaining each others' trust. We do know that he’s good on leash, has a beautiful ‘sit’, and much prefers to hang out and snuggle with staff outside of his kennel. We think that with the right family, he’ll be a stage 10 clinger with the way that he leans in for pets and then looks back at you with all of the stars in his eyes.

Origin Story:
Sumatra came in with six young pups and two other older pups who had been living in less than ideal conditions outdoors.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
