Meet Lyla!

Lyla is a pretty 4-year-old tan and white terrier mix with a gentle personality, lovely manners, and eyes that are hard to forget. People often talk about dogs having “puppy dog eyes,” but Lyla’s expression feels different. When she looks at you, it’s almost as if she’s already telling you how much she wants to love you - it melts our heart every time we see her.

She’s a pup that likes to stay close to your side, content just being near you and enjoying a little affection. She isn't a girl who needs to put on a big show to get your attention. Her sweetness comes through in the little things, whether she's leaning into you or resting her sweet head on your lap.

Of course, Lyla has a playful side, too! When she gets excited, she seems to like to hop like a little kangaroo, and it's such a fun contrast to her otherwise very lady-like demeanor. She's a polite girl who seems to be housetrained. From what we’ve seen, she prefers to wait until she can get outside to take care of her business, which is another lovely thing to know about her.

When she was brought in, this sweet girl had a pretty pink collar on, but sadly, whomever gave her that gift never came to claim her. She hasn’t let that get her down though - she is still the same sweet, gentle girl who wants companionship, enjoys affection, and will be a wonderful addition to someone's life. She’s waiting to give you her best puppy dog eyes so she can be your next best girl!

Lyla is heartworm positive and will need treatment, but don’t let that stop you from giving this sweet girl the forever home she deserves. Ask about Lyla today!

Lyla's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!
