Meet Blitzen!

Don’t let Blitzen’s age fool you—this 7-year-old Mixed Breed still has plenty of spunk, energy, and adventure to share! Blitzen loves getting out to play, explore, and enjoy all the fun life has to offer. He may have a few more years under his belt, but his personality says he’s still a young pup at heart!

Blitzen is heartworm positive, but that diagnosis does not define him or his future. Heartworm disease is treatable with proper veterinary care, and this fun-loving boy deserves the chance to receive treatment while surrounded by love. If you’re looking for a companion who is ready for both playtime and adventures, Blitzen may be your perfect match!

Blitzen's $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports!

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
