Meet Gypsy!

If you're looking for a dog with a heart of gold, Gypsy is your girl. She is truly one of the sweetest, most amazing girls you could ever meet. After lovingly raising her babies, Gypsy is officially a mama who has done her job and is ready for a life that is all about her. Her puppies are weaned, and now it's time for this wonderful girl to be spoiled!

Gypsy is still working on putting some weight back on. She's definitely a grazer and prefers to eat on her own schedule rather than scarfing down a meal. She has absolutely zero aggression and is amazing with everyone she meets.

Gypsy can be a little shy when she first arrives somewhere new. She may even decide that hiding under the bed is the safest place to be while she figures everything out. But once she realizes she's safe and you're her person, watch out because you're going to have the most incredible companion!

Gypsy did suffer some head trauma in her past, and because of that, running and walking on a leash in a perfectly straight line can sometimes be difficult for her. She is still learning and working on her recall. She isn't a dog who wants to run away; she simply has some difficulty with long term retention of her training. She does best with patience, consistency, and lots of positive reinforcement.

And if you have cheese or beef treats, you've already found the way to her heart!

Gypsy has spent so much of her life taking care of others. Now she deserves someone who will take care of her. Someone who will give her the patience to settle in, the love she's been waiting for, and a soft place to call home.

Once Gypsy trusts you, she won't just be your dog she'll be your best friend, your shadow, and your biggest little lovebug.

Gypsy is ready for her happily ever after.

Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) Adoption Process
- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!

Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.

Location And Hours
- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; and Saturday 10AM-4PM.
