Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption in Fairfax, Virginia

SADIE

Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Fairfax, Virginia
April 26th
female, large, adult

DESCRIPTION

Meet Sadie, a sweet and soulful 10-year-old, 95lb girl with a gentle heart and so much love to give! This black and brown beauty is friendly, affectionate, and always happy to be close to her people—she’ll gladly soak up all the attention you’re willing to give!
Sadie may be in her golden years, but that hasn’t deterred her playful nature, especially when a tennis ball is involved! A light game of fetch followed by a relaxing afternoon of lounging around with you on the couch would be her perfect day.
Sadie may be content with another dog in her new home, especially one that matches her relaxed energy! Be sure to bring your pup to the shelter for a visit with Sadie to be sure they can be compatible canine companions.
Sadie does have some medical needs that her future family should be prepared to support. She has a history of chronic ear infections and what our veterinary team suspects may be ocular/uveal melanoma. Her adopter will need to work closely with their veterinarian to monitor these conditions and ensure she remains comfortable and maintains the quality of life she deserves!
Sadie is looking for a compassionate home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love, patience, and care. In return, she’ll offer unwavering loyalty, gentle companionship, and a lifetime of sweet moments!

This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!

Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalservices/adopt

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
