Meet Chloe
Chloe Needs a New Forever Home
Chloe is a beautiful, approximately 3-year-old, 55-pound mixed-breed girl with a sleek black coat with a little white and adorable German Shepherd-style ears.
She originally came to Mutt Life Dog Rescue in January 2025 after being rescued from a life of neglect, where she and several other dogs were kept outside, tethered with heavy logging chains. She knew very little human kindness beyond the children in the home. Following a neglect investigation, the dogs were seized and surrendered to the shelter, giving Chloe the chance at a better life.
After arriving in Wisconsin, Chloe was adopted and has been enjoying the comforts of a loving home. She has gained weight, settled in beautifully, and shown just how smart, loyal, and wonderful she can be. Unfortunately, her current owner is looking to travel and spend winters down south, and Chloe's strong reluctance to get into a vehicle has made it difficult to plan for the future. Her owner is hoping to find Chloe another home where she can continue to thrive.
Meet Chloe
Chloe is a people-loving girl who enjoys being wherever her favorite person is, whether inside the house or outside enjoying the fresh air. She is wonderful with people of all ages and loves being part of daily life. She is incredibly smart, knows some basic commands, and understands “leave it” when she needs a little redirection. She is also a fantastic little detective on walks, taking in all the interesting smells along the way!
Chloe is housebroken, crate trained, and a good leash walker who generally walks with a loose leash. She has excellent manners overall, with only a very minor tendency to jump or offer a paw when she wants your attention. She rarely barks, although she may give a warning bark if she gets caught up on her outdoor lead or if someone comes to the door before her owner has greeted them.
Chloe is timid around unfamiliar dogs and would do best with thoughtful introductions and a home that understands her need for time to feel comfortable. She has a special friendship with a large standard poodle, showing that she can form wonderful bonds with the right canine companion. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.
