Nelson is the definition of a gentle, affectionate companion. He absolutely loves his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to be near you. He thrives on being around people and always wants to know what everyone is up to.

One of his sweetest qualities is how attentive he is to children. If he hears a child crying, he immediately goes over to check on them, as if he needs to make sure they're okay.

He isn't super high-energy and is much more relaxed and easygoing. He's happiest simply being with his family, getting some affection, and hanging out nearby. He's the kind of dog who wants to be part of the family and be wherever his people are.

He is currently pretty underweight, so when it comes to food around other dogs he can be protective of it. Feeding him in a kennel has helped with that immensly. He's also not much of a barker. He's generally a quiet guy and only really whines or howls when he's kenneled because he'd much rather be out with his people. He can be a little nervous in the kennel and definitely lets you know that he'd prefer to be included with the family. With patience and reassurance, he's learning that kennel time is okay, too. Not quite yet house trained which we are working on, but doesn't have accidents in the kennel.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
