I'm new to Minnesota and I have slowly been adjusting to life in my foster home. Foster mom says I'm super handsome and sweet as pie.

I can be pretty shy at first, but don't worry, with some treats and friendly pets, I will warm up quickly! At least to people... it takes me a little extra time to feel comfortable enough to play with other dogs. When I first meet other dogs, I kind of ignore them or shy away, but I have a couple of foster dog siblings that have been helping me to be brave and have been trying to teach me how to play together which has been really nice! They are even trying to show me how we can play with toys together. Cause I love playing with toys! I usually play with toys either by myself (I'm a pro at playing fetch by myself) or with humans. I like to lightly play bite and wrestle with my humans so my foster mom says a home with older kids would be best! I think I could learn how to play with younger kids too... it would just take a little time & patience. I've met kids a few times now and I find them easier to approach. Maybe it's because of their small size :) I have also been slowly learning about cats! I have three foster cat siblings and oh boy, they sure are tempting to chase! The kitten has been the easiest to get to know and adjust to so I think she's actually helping me learn to be better around them. My foster parents tell me not to chase the cats so I have been working really hard to be a good listener!

My foster parents often tell me I'm a good listener, am really smart, and have been really receptive to their feedback. I'm so glad they can see how hard I try! I've got a lot of potential because I really love to learn :) I've mastered "Sit" and am working on "Lay down" and "Stay". They've also been teaching me about this thing called a kennel. I have been learning to go into my kennel when they say the word "kennel" and sometimes at night I will go in there on my own to lay down and rest. My foster parents give me a little bedtime snack in there before they shut the door and I sleep in the kennel all night. I'm usually pretty tired so I don't mind one bit! However, I really don't like being in my kennel during the day when they're gone, which luckily hasn't been very often. I do my best, but I bark a lot to let them know I miss them and want to come out and play! I guess I do that anytime they leave, even when I'm not in my kennel. I just really love to be near humans!

I have a lot of energy so I get to play a lot and go on a couple walks a day with my foster siblings. It might be my favorite... I love going on walks with them! I wear a harness when walking cause my foster mom says I have the potential to be "a runner". I think it's because I can be a little scared or skittish sometimes, but the more time I spend somewhere, I think I can learn to be brave. Especially with my humans nearby! I really thrive near my favorite people :)

I am potty trained, but have had some accidents in the house when I've been stressed... which has only been when I've been left alone. I've gotten a lot better, but I know this might happen again when I find my forever home. So I hope my forever family will be patient with me cause I promise it would just be a short phase while I get more comfortable in my new home! Who knows, with frequent potty breaks in the beginning, it might not be a phase at all! I think this is part of why my foster parents have me go in my kennel when they're gone... to make sure I don't have any accidents and because sometimes I will chew on things that aren't toys. Oops! So I suppose they think it's safest for me in my kennel just to be sure!

Everyone tells me I am the sweetest, most gentle and loving boy, which I think is true cause I just love people! I love playing with them and even take treats from them very gently! My foster mom also likes to remind me how cute I am and how she loves my unique scruffy coat. I've got a fun mix of colors... black, tan, and white! The tan is hard to notice, but as soon as the sun hits my hair, it peaks its way through the black :) I guess I am one of a kind!

My foster parents say I am going to make a great family dog. I don't mind if they are a big family or even if it's just one adult- as long as they have the patience to work with me and teach me how to be the best I can be! I cannot wait to find my forever family. Once I do, I am going to be the happiest and most loyal companion! I just know we are going to have so much fun together and I will love them the mostest!!

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
