Some dogs just seem to brighten every room-and every trail-they walk into. Mocha is one of those dogs.

Originally adopted through Street Dog Hero, we're now partnering with his loving owner to help this wonderful young boy find the forever home where he'll continue to thrive. While this has been a difficult and thoughtful decision, it's being made entirely out of love and a desire to give Mocha the active, social lifestyle he deserves. From the moment you meet him, it's hard not to fall in love with his joyful personality. Mocha is an incredibly happy, affectionate, and playful dog who genuinely seems to believe that everyone is his friend. Whether it's greeting new people, making canine companions, or simply soaking up attention, his tail is almost always wagging, and his enthusiasm for life is contagious.

Mocha is still a young dog with an adventurous spirit and a moderate-to-high energy level. He loves getting outside to explore, enjoys playtime with other dogs, and would make an outstanding companion for an active individual, couple, or family who enjoys walks, hikes, adventures, and spending time together. Even after a fun day out, he's just as happy relaxing with his people at home. He's already mastered many of the basics and has wonderful house manners. Mocha is house-trained, crate-trained, and actually enjoys spending time in his crate, often choosing it on his own for a nap or to quietly chew on one of his favorite toys. He's eager to learn, food motivated, and already knows commands including sit, down, come, leave it, follow, and paw. Mocha has done wonderfully around both people and other dogs. He's playful, social, and truly enjoys being part of the action. Because of his friendly, outgoing personality, we think he'd especially enjoy a home where he has plenty of opportunities to interact with people and perhaps another playful canine companion. While he would likely do well as an only dog with an active, engaged owner, he also seems to gain a lot of joy from having both human and canine friends to share life with.

One of Mocha's favorite qualities is his easygoing nature. He isn't much of a barker, rides through life with a positive attitude, and approaches new experiences with curiosity and excitement. Whether you're heading out for a hike, visiting friends, exploring town, or simply relaxing at home, Mocha is happiest being included alongside his people. His owner has loved him deeply and has made the incredibly selfless decision to seek a home that can better match his social and active lifestyle following significant life changes. Decisions like this are never easy, but they are sometimes the most loving ones we can make for the dogs we cherish.
