Meet Jay !!

Happy playful and loving little guy looking for a great home. If youre looking for a spunky little shadow to follow you around then here he is!

Jay is a 4 year old male poodle mix. He weighs 7.7 pounds and is close to full grown. Hes a little on the thin side and could use to gain another pound or so.

He has already been neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is thankfully heartworm negative.

Jay was surrendered to the shelter for supposedly biting a childs hand while they were playing. If that happened, we can only guess it must have been accidental because this guy has not been aggressive at all. As you can see in his pictures hes been fostered with a child that he loves playing with and letting her dress him up etc. We have seen zero aggression from this little guy.

He is a very playful fun guy. He loves running around, playing with toys and making sure the squeaker is properly removed from all plushy toys. Hes active for sure but also has a very cuddly side once hes tired. A very sweet boy. He adjusts quickly to new people and places. Just a happy about life kinda dog.

Jay does really well with other dogs. He loves to play with the other dogs. He has never been around cats so we are not sure how he would do. He is extremely loving and has done great with all people and kids he has met. He does have the alleged bite during play with a child so that needs to be considered. We suspect that was accidental but older kids may be a better option for him.

He is doing well with his training. He is crate trained. Hes great on car rides. He is working on his leash walking but isnt perfect. Hes been doing good with his potty training but does need to go out frequently to not have accidents.

Jay has a medium energy level. Hes not a lap dog type all the time. Hes very spunky and playful. Hes a fun little dog that loves toys and adventure. He does have a cuddly sweet side when hes tired, but he definitely needs a family looking for a fun playmate.

He has shown no issues sharing treats, toys or food with other dogs or people. He is a little obsessed with human food, so you have to watch him around it. He gets very excited.

Overall this guy will make a great addition to any active family. He deserves a family that will be as loyal to him as he will be to them.

He will need regular grooming. This requires time to get him to and from the appointments and additional expenses to pay for it. On average a dog of this breed will need grooming every 6 weeks. This should be fully considered prior to applying to adopt him.
