Bella Claire - Miniature Pinscher and Italian Greyhound Dog for Adoption in Falmouth, Maine

Miss Bella Claire here is pleased to make your acquaintance! This wonderful loving girl is patiently awaiting a home to call her very own. Bella Claire has been vetted, spayed, microchipped, and received a clean bill of health from our vet. She is now ready to make her way home to you! Read on for Bella Claire's story, and for instructions on how to request an application to add her to your family!

Here's what we know about BELLA CLAIRE:

- Bella Claire is estimated to be about 3.5 years old, and weight 14lbs. She is full grown and will not get any bigger. Her size is perfect!

- Bella Claire is a miniature pinscher mix - whatever she is mixed with could be anyone's guess. We think there might be some Italian greyhound or similar breed based on her demeanor and physical characteristics. This girl has an awesome personality, and is very attached to her person. She will be the best companion ever to her new family!

- Bella Claire came into rescue as an owner surrender with her litter of puppies. Her pups have since all been adopted and started their new lives so now it's Bella Claire's turn. She has been receiving lots of love and attention in foster care, but is so excited to head to a home of her own soon!

- Bella Claire has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. Our vet has given her a clean bill of health as well.

- Bella Claire is trained to use a doggy door and has no inside accidents. She will use an indoor puppy pad if need be as well. Her new home should be prepared to put her on a regular bathroom schedule if she won't be able to go out on her own, but she will definitely adjust quickly as she is very smart and eager to please. She loves car rides and walks well on a leash too.

- Bella Claire would be the perfect companion for a retired person or couple as she is a great lap dog who never wants to leave your side. She thrives with one on one attention and loves to snuggle in bed with you at night. She will definitely need her new owner(s) to be home the majority of the time and have a lot of time to spend with her.

- Bella Claire does get along with other dogs and enjoys playing with them at foster mom's house, but she would love to have the attention of her family all to herself if possible. She is definitely a velcro girl!

- We are not sure how she is with cats, but if the cat in her future home is dog savvy, she should do just fine!

- Bella Claire is only 14lbs, so her new family should be prepared to monitor her while outside at all times as encroaching wildlife could be a threat to her safety if she is left unattended. She would love to play in a fenced in yard with mom and dad keeping watch close by too.

- Bella Claire hasn't had a ton of exposure to young children and we do feel that she would do best with retirees or adults who are home often, but we do think she would do okay with kids 7+ who know how to respect doggy boundaries. She is on the smaller side, so any kids around her would need to know how to treat her with care and not accidentally step on her etc.

- We would love to see Bella Claire go to a breed and/or small dog experienced home, but encourage all applicants that fit her needs to apply! For breed and small dog experienced families, you will likely be familiar with "luxating patella" which is a condition in which the kneecap occasionally slips out of place before correcting itself. A vast majority of small breeds suffer from this condition to some extent. Bella Claire has a very mild case that requires no treatment and causes her no pain. You'll occasionally see her do a little hop or skip if the knee cap shift, thats all!

What we love about Bella Claire: She is what we call a plug and play pup! Hurry up and snatch her up!
