"Schatz" is the German word for treasure, and this girl sure holds true to her namesake! Sweet and happy Schatz will literally wiggle with delight whenever you speak to her. This girl just can't wait for her new family to find her. Schatz has been vetted, spayed, microchipped, and received a clean bill of health from our vet. She is now ready to make her way home to you! Read on for Schatz's story, and for instructions on how to request an application to add her to your family!
Here's what we know about SCHATZ:
- Schatz is about a year old now, and weighs 20lbs. She may gain a pound or two more as she fills out, but is otherwise full grown. She is the perfect size for a family dog, and is sturdy enough for some kid playtime too!
- Schatz is a beagle/dachshund mix, and has a delightful personality to match. She has huge round eyes that twinkle when she looks at you, and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She is happy go lucky and very eager to please.
- Schatz into rescue as an owner surrender. She has been receiving lots of love and attention in foster care, but is so excited to head to a home of her own soon!
- Schatz has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccines. Our vet has given her a clean bill of health as well.
- Schatz is doggy door trained and doesn't have any accidents indoors. She is still young (just out of the puppy age herself) so her new family should be prepared to continue to teach her things like proper leash training, commands, and good doggy behavior. She is a fast learner and would make a wonderful dog for a first time dog owner. She would also be a fantastic companion for a family with children too. Anyone would be lucky to end up with this girl!
- Schatz gets along with other dogs and enjoys playing with them at foster mom's house. She would do just fine as the only dog, but certainly wouldn't mind a doggy playmate of her own too!
- We are not sure how she is with cats, but if the cat in her future home is dog savvy, she should do just fine! She would be more intimidated by the cat than the cat would be of her, and would immediately back down.
- Schatz is the perfect size and build at @ 20lbs, and would love a fenced in yard of her own to play in or to chase some kiddos in.
- We would love to see Schatz go to a breed and/or small dog experienced home, but encourage all applicants that fit her needs to apply! This is one girl you don't want to miss out on!
