Eevee - Miniature Dachshund and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Durham, North Carolina

Meet Eevee! This adorable long-haired strawberry blonde gal is approximately 5 years old and weighs around 8 pounds. Eevee did well at the vet where she got a clean bill of health. Her spay surgery and dental cleaning are upcoming and will be covered by Hope Animal Rescue.

Eevee is a mellow and well-behaved girl. She loves to walk and play fetch! Eevee can be a little discerning about the people and dogs she feels comfortable with. When she's unsure, she may communicate that she needs some space by growling or showing her teeth. Rather than being a girl who loves everyone immediately, Eevee will need people who understand her boundaries and are willing to let her build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her sweet and playful personality really begins to shine!

And what a playful side she has! Eevee LOVES playing with her foster mom. Balls are her favorite toys, and she absolutely loves to fetch. She has a fun-loving personality that comes out once she knows she's in a safe place.

She is currently living happily alongside other resident dogs, who she peacefully coexists with, but hasn't shown much interest in playing with. Since she hasn't had the opportunity to meet other dogs yet, we're not sure if she simply prefers her own space or if she may enjoy certain doggy friends in the right setting.

Eevee will do best with a patient adopter who is willing to let her settle in gradually and respect her communication. She would also benefit from slow, positive introductions and patient socialization to help her discover whether canine playmates are something she enjoys.

Eevee is crate trained and making great progress with her house training. With patience, understanding, and a little time to build trust, this sweet little girl has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
