Meet Kindred
Kindred is a 10–12 month old, 14 lb Maltipoo with a non-shedding coat who was rescued from the shelter and is now ready to find a loving forever home. She is very much still a puppy at heart— playful, energetic, affectionate, and full of personality. While she can be a little timid at first, her sweet nature shines through quickly, and it becomes clear that she simply wants to be close to her people and feel safe and loved.
Daily Routine
Kindred starts her day by heading straight outside, where she proudly shows off her excellent potty manners. She is perfectly housetrained and understands the routine well. After her morning potty break, she enjoys breakfast. She can be a bit of a picky eater, so her foster sometimes mixes in tasty additions like rice, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, or bone broth to encourage her to eat.
After breakfast, she relaxes for a short while before her puppy energy kicks in. Once she gets going, she is ready to play, run, and interact with everyone around her. She enjoys a daily walk of about 20 to 30 minutes and spends the rest of the day bouncing between playtime, exploring, and hanging out with her people. In the evening, after dinner and more fun, Kindred winds down and settles into her kennel around 10 pm, where she sleeps soundly through the night.
Personality
Kindred is a playful, energetic young dog who truly loves being part of the action. She enjoys running around, playing, and greeting her people with enthusiastic energy. Like many puppies her age, she can get excited and may use her mouth during play, but she responds well to guidance and is still learning her manners as she grows.
She is also very affectionate and enjoys being close to her people. She tends to stay right in your personal space and likes to be involved in whatever is going on. Once she feels comfortable, her loving and silly personality really comes out. Despite her playful nature, she can be timid in new situations and may feel nervous around unfamiliar people, especially on walks. With patience and reassurance, she continues to build confidence.
Social Life
Kindred loves people and wants attention and affection, even if she sometimes feels unsure at first. She may bark occasionally when startled or when someone new enters the home, but she is not a constant barker. Her reactions are usually tied to feeling nervous rather than being vocal. She enjoys interaction and would benefit from continued positive experiences that help her feel more secure in the world around her.
Training and Manners
Kindred is perfectly potty trained and does very well with her routine. She sleeps in her kennel at night and settles nicely once it is time for bed. On walks, she can be timid and may feel nervous around new people or unfamiliar environments. She may chew when bored or during this teething phase, so appropriate toys and supervision will help guide her as she matures.
Favorite Thing About Kindred
One of the most endearing things about Kindred is her joyful, slightly clumsy enthusiasm. She loves to run outside and then race back into the house at full speed, sometimes launching herself right into her people as if she simply cannot contain her excitement to be near them. It is a funny and affectionate reminder of just how much she loves being part of the family.
