Meet Brooke or Brookie Cookie as we call her. She is a former breeder dog who was surrendered along with her mom because they were chasing the recently acquired free-range chickens on the farm. We feel this means she has a prey drive and she should not be placed in a home with kitties for their safety.
She peacefully co-exists with our 7-year-old fox red purebred Labrador Retriever who is also a former breeder mom and a 10-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever mix who was an owner surrender. She seems to gravitate towards our younger dog which could be because they are kindred spirits. Our older dog has not shown any interest in her and Brooke gives her space.
Brooke would be better placed with children over the age of 5.
She loves to play fetch with tennis balls which is definitely a quintessential Labrador Retriever trait. We would love to see if she is a swimmer, but our pool is currently under renovations. She enjoys walks and does not pull.
This girl just wants to give and receive love from her humans.
She seems to enjoy the comforts of living in a house particularly the central air conditioning after living in a barn for 5 years.
She is also not your typical food motivated Labrador Retriever. She eats her kibble at a nice pace although she does love treats.
She was scheduled to be spayed on June 18, 2026, but she went into heat on June 14, 2026. This means she will be adopted with a Sterilization Agreement.
Would you consider being her forever family? She will make a loving, loyal and devoted companion.
