Corky is a 5 yr old Chocolate Lab that was surrendered because his Owner has chronic medical conditions and could no longer give Corky his best possible life.
Corky is crated when we go out because he likes to counter-surf looking for food and gets into trash cans. He sleeps in the bedroom in bed cuddled next to me often laying his head across my legs. Corky will bark if he hasn’t had enough activity or attention and no one is paying any attention to him.
Corky knows “Sit”, “Stay”, “Come”, “Paw”, “Down” and “Wait”. He has a gentle mouth when taking treats. Corky loves to spend time outside exploring the yard as long as you’re with him. He is very people focused and does not like to be outside alone. He doesn’t show much interest in toys. Corky walks well on leash and does not pull much even when seeing a squirrel or another dog. He is fine at the vet’s office and does not pull to get to other dogs.
At mealtimes, Corky eats out of his Tiger Ball. He gets a lot of exercise, mental and physical, trying to get all that kibble out of the little hole. When he’s finished his meal, he loves to play “Chase me” with the Tiger Ball.
Corky does not guard food/treats or toys from our dogs. We can give them treats together without issues and they all lay near each other when eating their frozen carrots.
Corky allows us to touch him anywhere without any problem checking his ears and teeth. He loves to cuddle and be close to his people. His owner says that Corky thinks he is a lap dog!
Corky gets along fine with our dogs, but he is much more people-focused than dog-focused. When one of our dogs is getting attention, he runs right over and butts in front of them. We think he would do okay with another dog. But he would also be fine with being the only dog.
Everyone who meets Corky comments on how sweet and gentle he is. Once you look into his warm, friendly eyes, we think you will fall in love, too!
